INPATIENT SERVICES


Our wards feature separate male and female units and are designed to make patients feel safe and taken care for. Our patients receive compassionate, round the clock care from our doctors, nurses, and support staff up until the date of discharge.

Admission

Please observe the following guidelines for admission

1.        The decision to admit you to our wards will be solely made by your doctor.

2.       You will be required to fill out an admission form and a clinical questionnaire prior to your admission.

3.       If you will be settling your medical bill in cash, you will be required to pay a deposit upon admission.

4.       The hospital will require the following information from you if you have an insurance cover:

·         A letter of undertaking from your employer.

·         A duly filled out admission preauthorization form.

·         Letter of undertaking (LOU) from your insurance/employer

5.       All SHA contributors will be required to provide the following:

·         A valid SHA cover, with up-to-date contributions.

·         Identification documents of the contributor and or/ dependant that were used during the SHA registration.

·         If the patient is a dependant (spouse or child) they must be registered with the contributor’s card.

·         If the dependant is above the age of 21 and is schooling, a letter from their learning institution bearing a reference number will be required.

Discharge

The discharge process involves the following steps:

1.        Medical discharge from the doctor.

2.       Clearance with the billing department.

After you have been discharged by your doctors and settled your medical bill in full a gate pass shall be issued to you.

 

 

 

1.    The next of kin acts as a primary point of contact and decision-maker for a patient, especially when the patient is unable to make decisions for themselves. The next of kin is defined as a person's closest living relatives through blood or legal relationships.

 

2.      All medical bills are payable to Kilimani Hospital Limited. You can pay your medical bill via MPESA pay bill. The business number is 522533, and the account number is 6340788.

3.      If you are settling your medical bill in cash, your medical bill balance must not accumulate more than 4 days. Your medical bill has to be paid in full on the day of discharge.

 

4.     Patient visitation hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM daily. A maximum of three (3) visitors are permitted per patient during each thirty (30) minute visitation period. Patient visitation can take place outdoors at the umbrella shade.

5.   After admission a psychiatric patient will not be allowed to receive visitors until the doctor permits visitation. The patient’s next of kin will be informed by the doctor when visitation can commence.

 

6.   After admission a patient shall only be allowed to leave the hospital for further investigations such as imaging diagnostic tests or after being discharged.

 

7.       Barber/hair stylist services are available upon request. Please ask the nurse on duty to make arrangements if you need one.

 

8.     All notices of discharge must be communicated in writing two days prior to the discharge date.

 

9.     Psychiatric patients are not allowed to have mobile phones in the ward unless authorized by the doctor.

 

10. The hospital offers entertainment as appropriate; patients can watch television and listen to music while in the ward. Additionally, we advise  patients to bring reading and writing materials.

 

11.    It is not permitted to consume alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes on hospital grounds.

 

12.   Photography, video recording and live streaming is not permitted in the ward or on hospital grounds.
